Safety
The HECA project will be designed, constructed and operated to high safety, environmental and health standards that meet or exceed California's most stringent requirements. The HECA project will also meet California and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District's (APCD) strict emission standards.
The HECA project will meet strict operating standards through its responsible feedstock handling and storage, a gasification process that will capture sulfur and other compounds and state of the art emission controls to achieve/exceed Best Achievable Control Technology (BACT) emissions. These emissions will be recycled to increase efficiency and reduce venting. And last, but not least, HECA will re-use non-potable water.
